Happy February! I’ve been busy taking care of myself and hibernating lately but it’s time to get back in the swing of things, right? Look for more blog posts soon. For the past few months, I’ve really focused on taking care of myself. One of my favorite spots to visit is Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens. Can’t wait until spring is here!

The orchid house at Daniel Stowe Botanical Gardens is so cozy this time of year.

I also had the pleasure of hosting my January Workshop at NoDa Brewing Company with a fabulous group of folks. You can now download the materials from that class.

Speaking of spring, I am excited to be hosting a new workshop in Winston Salem, NC specifically targeted at vendors. This event is sponsored by Catbird Art & Events. It will take place on March 8th at Mayberry Ice Cream and we will cover some key ways to optimize social media for vending.

You know that moment when someone is walking away from your booth at the art market saying “they’ll come back by later” and you know you won’t see them again? This workshop will outline some ways to use merchandising and promotions to convert your visitors to newsletter subscribers, Instagram followers, and how to track sales that originated from specific events.

We’ll also talk about e-commerce integrations, tips for image and product tagging, and how to share event information effectively as a participant. The second half of the workshop will be a calendar activity where we’ll learn how to plan ahead for trending topics to help get you in gear for this year!

We will discuss what building web authority looks like, how to use tools like Facebook Business Manager or Creator Studio to optimize your posting and shopping integrations, plus some discussion of what online compliance looks like. It can be easy to do what everyone else is doing, but that can also put your social platforms at risk. I’ll focus some time on how to build your web assets like your website and newsletter list to help protect your brand from the finicky social networks.

So, that leaves me with an important question. What challenges do you face as an artist online? Leave a comment with your digital doubts and let’s start a discussion!

Get your ticket today, seats are limited and we can’t wait to sit down with you in March.
