The COVIDversary

As we approach the one-year anniversary of the COVID pandemic, it’s difficult not to look back on all the things we didn’t do. Even if I didn’t post updates, I have been busy improving my life despite the pandammit. This week is my 40th birthday. It looks very different than what I was planning a year ago when I could already feel the looming doom. So today, I thought it would be a good time to share an update and get back into the swing of things instead of focusing on what could have been.

Who else made masks? The Carolina Mask Project was my way of providing COVID aid in 2020.

March is Ideas Month

Because good ideas are difficult to come by and easy to lose, I am working on getting my own house in order. This means planning for the second quarter with content ideas, collaborations, and more. For me, this is mostly done either in my analog Bullet Journal or in Asana where I leave myself content ideas or develop target dates. Having a capture system is crucial to helping those ideas come to life!

What ideas are you working on? It is so motivating to hear what others are working on and how we can improve ourselves together as a community. Don’t hesitate to reach out, feel free to contact me using the form or DM me on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter!!

Leaning In

Some of my ideas have already taken shape in the form of events. I have created a booking page using Setmore where you can schedule some time with me either one-on-one or join in one of my bi-weekly marketing chats. This has helped lay a solid foundation for next quarter as I lean into my ideas. When you visit my Setmore page, you can select one of my consulting appointments, or see what private events I have scheduled.

In addition to the appointments and private events, I am also teaching virtual marketing classes with MakerSpace Charlotte. This month, you can take either Marketing for Makers or Instagram for Makers. In the marketing class, we cover different types of marketing methods, how they apply to you, and what social networks may be right for you as an artist or maker. It can be challenging to navigate digital marketing without some of these foundational principles, so this course is designed to help lay the groundwork for you to grow your business on a professional level. In the Instagram class, we cover different types of posts and how to leverage even a small following into sales using some of the principles from the marketing class.

Futurecast

As we move into next quarter, I look forward to continuing to add to my Makers series, and offer those classes in-person! I am also working on a collaborative series for my blog and perhaps, some more other events where you can join and learn how to move forward together in these extraordinary times. Let’s explore these pioneering ideas together!
